QUOTE (killerhex @ Jan 12 2006, 09:51 AM) i want to know howto activate it b/c the http download a slow
Just PM daft27. But its not meant to be faster than direct http download.
Its for people that cant make international downloads.
QUOTE (Bold @ Oct 18 2005, 05:42 AM) Even with a firewall, you should be able to use bittorent. Just change the port that is used and your good to go.
Of course, you wont get super fast download, since other people wont be able to connect to you. But you will be able to connect to them, so it wil for. You will be what some bittorent call firewaled. But you should get better speed than 3kb/s
ahem >_> , still uberslowness , port forwarding time~
This would solve my intermitant connection issues in a heartbeat! However there is no way i can get acess to an afgan server, if there is even such a thing... Any ideas Daft? This will help out all us servicemembers overseas.
QUOTE (windfinder @ Oct 13 2006, 12:25 AM) Is this meant to bypass packet shaping? If so I would be very interested, since downloads have been cutting for me from FTV.
Packet shaping? You mean a bandwidth analyser that priorituzes certain packet types?
FXP is meant for people who have a download limits on international downloads. But you need a local FTP server where the file can be uploaded. So a packet analyzer will most likely pose the same limits on this than on regular HTTP donwloads.
